Quality "Biosecurity"

At G.A. Wintzer & Son Co. we are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products possible. We are able to do this by following our Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan. This feed/food safety plan ensures the products are contaminant-free and safe to use. Our control points are monitored by our trained employees and then verified by our management team. Our HACCP plan is certified annually by the Animal Proteins Producers Industry (APPI), (The Rendering Industry Code of Practice), the Biosecurity Arm of the Rendering Industry and the American Feed Industry Association (AFIA), Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program. Along with these organizations we are also inspected annually by United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), and the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA).

All of our protein products are tested weekly for salmonella in the APPI Salmonella Testing Program. Our Fats and Oils are tested by the batch for the presence of chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides and PCBs at an independent 3rd party lab.

Our plant is a secured facility with perimeter fencing and video monitoring that ensure product safety and security. Visitors are logged in and out and accompanied by management personnel during their visit.
